Music Workstation: Day 1

I have begun research and development on a Linux Based Workstation for recording and producing music.

So far I have visited the following sites and I am currently considering the best (Stability: Quality: Interface) system configuration. What I have read at these sites is a great collection of information on successful hardware and software configurations. The current sites I am using for reference are:

I am sure that I will find evermore references on this topic and my goal is to document progress and catalog documentation. But for now: back to R&D!
